  • I have GI training for 3 years and 4 months as part of the West London GI training program. My rotation was at two Hospitals in London, the West Middlesex Hospital,
  • which is a 350-bed district general Hospital, and at the Chelsea & Westminister Hospital, a teaching hospital (Affiliated to Imperial College of Medicine, London). Part of my work involved clinical research at the Royal Brompton hospital, London.
  • Endoscopy Experience: I have 14 years of experience in endoscopic procedures. I am experienced in the following diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopies. Upper GI endoscopies: Injection Sclerotherapy and banding for esophageal varices Glue and thrombin injection for gastric varices Thermal ablation/schlerotheraphy of bleeding peptic ulcers Dilatation of esophageal and Gastro-duodenal strictures Insertion of PEG, PEJ and Naso-jejunal tubes Insertion of esophageal & duodenal stents Colonoscopy:

Hepatology Experience:

  • My initial hepatology training was at the Chelsea & westminister Hospital, London. Apart from treating patients with chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver,
  • I was actively involved through my research in the management of patients with cystic fibrosis-related liver disease at the Royal Brompton, London.
  • I have completed a one year Fellowship program in Hepatology & Liver Transplantation at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, New Orleans, USA.
  • I Worked in clinical Hepatology and viral Hepatitis clinic and was also part of the Liver Transplantation program, which was performing 50 to 60 transplants each year.
  • I am experienced in the treatment of patients with Viral hepatitis, in managing patients with end stage liver disease, in the assessment and work up of patients prior to liver transplantation, pre and post-operative care, and long-term management of immune suppression in these patients.
  • I have been practicing in India for the past 9 years as a consultant, and working predominantly as a Hepatologist.
  • I Have gained good experience in the management of many types of liver disorders in the Indian setting. I am currently working as the Hepatologist and Transplant physician and have recent experience of 15 successful liver transplants.
